You captain your own boat while the ever-present guides will paddle along coaching and assisting you throughout the river rapids. When taking a guided white water rafting trip on the Lower Youghiogheny with White Water Adventurers, you have a few options as to what kind of trip you want to take. Guide Escorted: Our traditional adventure. You captain your own raft while our professional guides accompany your group along 7.5 miles and through 22 challenging rapids. Your guides will ride in kayaks along side you all day and will provide directions, encouragement and assistance throughout the trip.
Captained Raft: Maximize your adventure! One of our experienced guides captains your raft for the entire journey. Their professional skills and knowledge allow you to experience the best the river has to offer. They instruct you on how and where to paddle while educating you on local river lore. This is an ideal option for beginners, youth, or timid individuals. Our Captained Raft river rafting trips are available for an additional cost of $30.00 per person.
Ultimate Adventure: Challenge the river one-on-one! Take a 1 or 2 person inflatable kayak or PPB (personal paddle boat). Your guide will be in a kayak along side you for your entire adventure and will provide directions, encouragement and assistance throughout the trip. The Ultimate Adventure is available for an additional cost of $10.00 per person.
Extreme Adventure: Take whitewater rafting to a new level! The extreme adventure is a high water blast where adrenaline is foremost and quick response is key. Our experienced river rafting guides will provide you an extreme adventure in small rafts (4 person rather than 8 person), which go beyond the normal river rafting experience. The Extreme Adventure is available during high water trips for an additional $40.00 per person
