White Water Rafting Guide
Job Summary:
Whitewater raft guides work under the direction of the General Manager and Trip Leader. Supervise, instruct, and ensure the safety of our rafting guests down Pennsylvania and West Virginia rivers ranging from Class II - Class V. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary. No previous whitewater skills are needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact with guests and co-workers. (strong interpersonal skills)
- Prepare all necessary equipment for river trips
- Assist guests with safety equipment.
- Always being a safety boater for all river guests. (utilizing either a raft, kayak, or other boat)
- Maintain safety procedures for all guests both on and off the river.
- Procure the enjoyment and safety of all guests
- Communicate appropriately with guests and co-workers.
- Carry out any and all duties assigned by the Trip Leader.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to make appropriate decisions during stressful or crisis situations.
- Strong oral communications.
- Have a love for the river.
- Must have a professional attitude at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Meet and/or exceed state guide qualifications.
- CPR and Standard First-Aid.
- Ability to successfully swim through all rapids.
Customer Service Representative
Job Summary:
The Sales and Customer Service Representative works under the direction of the Head Sales Representative and Office Manager: Answers the phone, sells and reserves rafting trips and hotel rooms, interacts with customers in person, files confirmations, processes photo sales, maintains master inventory book, maintains level of office supplies, recounts money bags for accuracy, opens and closes office.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answers the phone, sells and reserves rafting trips and motel rooms, processes credit card payments, processes requests for information with appropriate requested material, processes reservations and information requests for mailing, records messages for supervisory personnel
- Interacts with customers that come into the office, sells and reserves rafting trips and motel rooms, processes payments, escorts guests to appropriate department. Files confirmations in appropriate order and in correct payment files
- Processes photo sales, tallies, and compiles billing for payment to the photography studio
- Maintains master inventory book and notifies office manager of discrepancies in inventory counts
- Maintains level of office supplies, photocopies information pages, maintains level of credit card slips
- Recounts money bags for accuracy
- Opens and closes office following standard procedures. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
- Knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Ability to stay focused and organized under pressure
Minimum Qualifications:
Twelve years of general education or equivalent
Check-In Attendant
Job Summary:
The Check-In Attendant works under the direction of the Office Manager and General Manager: interacts with guests upon checking in for trip, answers guest questions, reviews release forms for completeness, sells and reserves rafting trips and motel rooms, rents wet suits and completes appropriate forms, accompanies guests to launching area, sells related souvenirs after the guests return from rafting, maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork, processes photo sales, recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy, opens and closes check in area.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interacts with guests upon checking in for trip, answers guest questions about their rafting day, reviews release forms for completeness
- Sells and reserves rafting trips to guests who walk in without reservations, processes payment for these reservations
- Rents wet suits and completes appropriate wet suit forms
- Accompanies guests to the launching area
- Sells related souvenirs after the guests return from rafting
- Processes photo sales for extra photos
- Maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork.
- Recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy
- Opens and closes check in area
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

- Ability to stay focused and organized under pressure
- Knowledge of retail sales helpful
Minimum Qualifications:
Retail Sales Clerk
Job Summary:
The Retail Sales Clerk works under the direction of the Office Manager and General Manager: interacts with guests that visit the shop, answers guest questions about our organization, assists guests in finding sizes and styles of t-shirts, sells related souvenirs, rents bicycles and completes appropriate forms, maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork, recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy, tags new merchandise upon arrival, opens and closes t-shirt shop.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interacts with guests that visit the shop, answers guest questions about our organization
- Sells related souvenirs and assists guests in finding sizes and styles of t-shirts
- Rents bicycles and completes appropriate forms
- Maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork
- Recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy
